Every June, we face the perennial question: how did half a year pass us by already? There’s no better way to celebrate how far we’ve come — and look forward to what’s coming next — than brightening up the spaces of our everyday lives.

From North America to India, the designs entering our catalog hail from all over the globe, each piece beautifully designed and exquisitely handcrafted. Read on to find out more about the philosophy and history of the brands CHANINTR is bringing to your front door this June.

Theodore Alexander

Renowned for its originality and quality, Theodore Alexander is one of the finest luxury furniture brands in the world. The brand has been releasing comprehensive collections of casual, traditional and modern furniture, lighting and accessories since it was founded by Englishman Paul Maitland Smith in 1996.

With an uncompromising commitment to excellence, each piece is hand crafted by expert artisans that combine unique designs with the most interesting materials to ensure that quality can be detected from every angle. No matter what the piece, you can be sure that Theodore Alexander delivers on both function and beauty, creating furniture that is bound to last lifetimes.

Phantom Hands

Phantom Hands is known for hand-crafting furniture where the logic of construction stands out. Indeed, the company name is a homage to the legacy of past artisans whose contributions remain in every piece they make in the present. Each piece is made by skilled carpenters, wood polishers, cane weavers, upholsterers and tailors who have been honing their craft for generations.

The brand seeks to embody the “cosmopolitan modernism” that defined the early years of independent India. Wood, fabric, cane and metal are employed to create iconic collections and timeless pieces that contribute to an Indian heritage of craftsmanship.

Karimoku Case Study

Inspired by the American Case Study Houses from the 1940s, Karimoku Case Study is a contemporary design brand that is driven by context. Every collection is created with its intended site in mind: architects and designers spend time on-site to investigate each case before they begin designing. By creating human-centric designs that serve its users, each piece is composed of materials that possess a timeless beauty.

Karimoku itself is Japan’s leading wooden furniture maker, with its roots in the Edo period. Similarly, Karimoku Case Study is defined by an unmatched love for and knowledge of wood, as seen by the uncompromising quality of production and attention to detail in all its products.

Ariake

Drawing its namesake from the Ariake Sea near Kyushu, Ariake is a company that designs furniture that brings people, cultures, and ideas together. Indeed, Ariake also means “daybreak” in Japanese, signifying the new beginnings of its founding companies, Legnatec and Hirata Chair.

Its 30-piece collection is intended for all urban lifestyles, creating a new vision of modern, spiritual living. Made from a diversity of materials, from paper cord to cotton canvas, these pieces are made from sturdy woods like oak, ash and hinoki and feature unique finishes like Sumi and indigo dye.

Chanintr and Co

Driven by the principle of living well, Chanintr x Co is a brand that seeks to deliver environmentally friendly furniture. The brand marks a new chapter in the history of CHANINTR, representing a culmination of its past successes as well as its hopes for the future.

Using environmentally sound materials, Chanintr x Co offers the highest-quality furniture at the best price. Along every step of the way, maximum effort is put in to ensure the removal of toxic and non-biodegradable materials, as well as to reduce the carbon footprint of shipment. Every piece is carefully made in order to be good for you and the environment.
